Q & A

How did you get into modeling? Was it your dream?

When I was 15 and my mother was on vacation, I took the chance and shaved my hair off, because she was not really enthusiastic about the idea. I, on the other hand, wanted to do this for years. Then I was scouted on the street by a photographer, who then passed my name on to Modelwerk. As a tall, skinny girl, I think you get told all the time that you should be a model anyway. That’s why it was always something I had in the back of my mind. It has always been a dream for me, but I think I would never have applied on my own because I would have been afraid of being rejected. However, in the end I realized that this was completely unnecessary. You have nothing to lose and now I would really recommend that everyone just try it out if you feel like it. If you can take your luck into your own hands, you should definitely take advantage of this option, because the probability that you will be in the right place at the right time and accidentally run into a scout is not that great.

Is there something you’ve been dreaming of for a long time, but never dared to do it?

What I would really like to do is travel without a direct destination, maybe something like Interrail or just spontaneously drive to the airport and see where I could fly to. I am a person who likes to plan everything in advance and who gets quite nervous when that´s not possible. Maybe a trip like this would get me a little more relaxed.

What can you absolutely not live without when traveling?

What should never be missing is a good book and headphones. I can look out the window for hours and just listen to music or read for the whole trip. When I’m flying, the most important thing is a lip balm, because the air always dries out my lips insanely …

Which shoot will you never forget and why?

I think the shoot that I will never forget was a shoot for Vogue Portugal in Paris. I flew out of Hamburg very early and then drove straight to the location and didn’t even know what to expect. When I arrived, I saw that I was supposed to wear a lot of beautiful haute couture that day. There were really important design houses  – from Dior to Jean-Paul Gautier, from whom I was allowed to wear the wedding dress of the 2020 collection. It was such a huge honor and it was incredibly fascinating. I was also allowed to wear beautiful jewelry, which was apparently so valuable that security men were on site. After the shoot, I walked through Paris, had something to eat and enjoyed the great weather. I think there is nothing better than exploring a strange city on your own, with music on your ears.

Your skin is perfect. Tell us your secret…

Fortunately, I was never a person who really had problems with their skin. However, since I finished high school and have more time for myself, I have noticed a difference in my skin texture. I think that comes from the fact that I have less stress or can relieve it better. I like to be in the fresh air and to really work out, doing sports. I also drink a lot of water, which every skin expert recommends, clean my skin well and wear SPF 50 sunscreen on my face every day, for which my skin will probably thank me in a few years.

What do we find in your fridge?

What you can always find is a block of regular tofu. I have all kinds of tofu in the fridge, because I think there are very few foods that can be processed in such a diverse way. You can also find plenty of vegetables; what I always have at home is broccoli, ginger, sweet potatoes, carrots and spinach. Also, I try to make sure that the vegetables and fruits are as seasonal as possible.

What would surprise people if they found out about you?

As you can see from the question above, I have been living vegan since I was 13 – so for 5 years already. The rest of my family continued to eat meat and dairy products, so I started to cater for myself a lot. From this, my passion for baking and cooking developed. I love trying new products and recipes and I cook fresh almost every day! This also helps me at jobs, because I’m a big fan of meal prepping. I prepare my meals in advance, so I can eat healthily, if there is only unhealthy food on set!

You win 3 million in the lottery – first of all…

I would invite all of my friends on a glamorous girl trip, somewhere where it’s warm and where we can totally relax and party.
